The Longfellow Poetry Contest is now accepting original poems from all students grades 3 through 8! NEPC is also accepting original poems from Massachusetts high school students for the Ruth Berrien Fox Award.
Both competitions are sponsored by the New England Poetry Club, Longfellow House-Washington’s Headquarters National Historic Site, and Friends of the Longfellow House-Washington Headquarters. Winners will receive a cash prize and will be notified through their school. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 at 2 pm.
All poems must be submitted in final format (typed or handwritten) in order to be considered. Please include the student’s name, grade level, teacher, and school name and address on each poem. Send poems to:

Entries must be postmarked by March 31st, 2017. Teachers may submit poems written by their classes on behalf of each student, but each entry must be identified by student, grade, teacher, and school. Only one poem per student will be accepted.
